A group of fine, fun loving Canadians set sail from Lefkas aboard this immaculate boat - The Velos. Over the course of the week we lived like Greek tycoons thanks to our incredible hosts. We learned to love the Greek cuisine (thank you Alicia), the sport of sailing (thank you Thanos), and the charm of a well travelled, mature young lady (that’s you, Darina!).
We loved the ice cream of Kastos, the music in Fiscardo and the bay on Meganisi. We tore it up on the Velos dance floor too!!!

This is my 2nd time visiting the Ionian Islands with you, and I am so happy that I got to bring my husband Eric to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. 7 days is never enough time on the Velos with wonderful company and being delighted with Alicia’s cooking. What a wonderful week of sailing the Ionian Islands. Darina and Antonis, you both made this extra special with your attention to detail, brilliant sense of humour and nothing was ever too much trouble. Hope you always remember to use the “bullshit meter” especially when Antonis claims to cook the meals.
Darina, your cooking was amazing and we will enjoy cooking the recipes from Alicia’s cookbook. You found us lovely bays to swim in, lovely places to explore and even a storm to experience together, on deck in the middle of the night!! You were both fantastic and we loved every minute of our sailing holiday.

Such a wonderful week with Darina and Antonis and especially sailing your beautiful yacht Velos. Sailing was fantastic, only surpassed by the amazing food and company. Ionian Islands are great sailing grounds. I especially liked the tours and ports we visited.
Your yacht Velos was always the best looking and best presented of the yachts in the marina. You should be very proud of your crew, they made us so welcome and were always very professional. Karen and I loved the experience and we make sure we pass on the enjoyment we had to our friends.

Golden Wedding on Velos!
The perfect venue to celebrate 50 years of marriage with our family and Antonis & Darina, who provided every comfort and met every need with care, energy and expertise. We have journeyed with Odysseus, swam, sunbathed and snorkeled in the warm Ionian waters where the September sun has bronzed our Northern bodies and the Darina’s delicacies filled them.
Thanks to them and to Thanos and Alicia (who should sign all her cookbooks, of which we bought two!). We have all taken turns at steering Velos, who has been our best friend for a week.

Thank you for a lovely week of relaxation, exhilaration and fantastic sailing! Your attention to detail this past week to ensure we enjoyed ourselves was impeccable. We loved every lunch, enjoying both Darina’s delicious cooking, Antonis’ stories of large yachts and the lovely company and view.
Antonis - go for a swim! Darina - always have as much passion for the islands as you do now, it is infectious! The Velos is a beautiful yacht and it has a great crew.

Wzięli mnie na marynarza!
Dość kiepskiego, bez patentu
Lecz chętnego i bez wstrętu
Znosić urok żeglowania,
Ster potrzymać bez gderania
I mieć zaszczyt ciągnąć żagle,
Z lądu w fale wpłynąć nagle,
Poczuć słonej wody smak
Wiatr we włosach, lazur, blask.
Szefem tu Thanassis mądry,
Zeglarz z niego bardzo dobry.
Dba o łódke, śledzi fale,
Sztormu się nie boi wcale.
Coś tam pstryka, zawiaduje,
Z mapą trasy opisuje...
Dzięki niemu jest porządek

Jest Nicolasa po łódce pościg.
Slicznotka mała śmiechem zaraża,

So sad to leave this perfect week. We have taken a lot of great vacations including sailing trips and this week ranks up there in top 10! Loved Ionian Islands and the crossing from Athens to Ionian. Company was lovely.

What a week we have had !!Thank you so much for such an incredible trip around the Saronics aboard your beautiful yacht, Velos. The whole experience has way surpassed our expectation (which was high given the brilliant account we’d heard from our friends!) and we are all so sad to be leaving today!
Thanos’ expert sailing skills and great sense of humor made us all feel so welcome and comfortable and at ease throughout the whole journey - even the slightly rocky waters on Day 1!
Alicia’s cooking was second to none - every day was better than the last- truly amazing to see what she’d produce each day from that tiny kitchen!
And Nicolas! Well what can we say, he really has stolen our hearts and we will all really miss his gorgeous smile next week.
